Recognize acts of kindness throughout the Bethel Park community.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been hard for a lot of people to stay positive and happy. Many people have considered this to be the worst time of their life. However, there has been a project initiated to give back to those who have stayed positive during this time and reflected it into their community.

Have you seen a certain person helping others constantly during the pandemic? Perhaps you’ve seen helping an old person shop who can’t leave their home, mowing other’s lawns, or donating to food, mask, blood drives, or other acts of kindness. Well, you can nominate them! This year the Bethel Park Kindness Project is encouraging people to nominate these types of people. The main purpose of the project is to help recognize people that have been helping out the community during the hard times of the COVID-19 era.

Submissions for people will be held until 6 p.m. on October 30. There are two ways you can submit your nomination. One option is by email, which is at [email protected]. The other option is to visiting the Municipality of Bethel Park Facebook page and submitting your information there.

Another part of the project is going to be a sidewalk chalk competition. The competition will be held from October 25 to October 30. This event is open to everyone of all ages, and the municipality encourages everyone to participate.

Those who are picked will be presented with a special kindness certificate, as well as recognition at the Bethel Park Council meeting.

As always, try your best to make a positive impact on your community. Small contributions by people in the community will lead to a much larger impact. Remember to keep your eye out for people doing good deeds, and if you feel that they are outstanding, vote for them!
