The Queer Eye guys meet with lawmakers to discuss Equality Act
Thursday, April 4, four of the Fab 5 guys from Netflix’s “Queer Eye” met on the Hill to discuss the Equality Act with lawmakers.
Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Bobby Berk, and Jonathan Van Ness took a break from making over everyday Americans to help lawmakers give the Civil Rights Act a makeover.
The Equality Act is a bill proposed to amend the Civil Rights Act to include protection against discrimination for sexual orientation, sex, and gender orientation. The Equality Act was originally proposed in 2015. It would prohibit discrimination in matters or housing, employment, and education opportunities.
The Queer Eye guys have always been advocates for LGBT+ rights and are clearly taking further steps to ensure that the LGBT community is protected and included by the government.
The Fab 4 out of 5 met with a number of government officials including Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez, Nancy Pelosi, Pramila Jayapal, and other passionate advocates for the Equality Act.
