This year, Bethel Park High School once again welcomed home one of its own as a teacher, Miss Camilla Walsh, Math teacher.
Miss Walsh, a 2007 Bethel Park Grad, attended Penn State University and majored in math and education.
“I completed student teaching at Upper St. Clair,” she said. “And I also did student teaching in Ireland.” Both experiences brought her exciting adventures.
Miss Walsh explained, “When I was student teaching in Ireland, the students clapped after the first lesson.”
Prior to teaching at BPHS, Miss Walsh taught at Oakland Catholic.
About her new job at BPHS, Miss Walsh stated, “I love working at Bethel Park. I graduated here and it’s cool to be working at the same place you went to school.”
Miss Walsh’s younger brother is a senior at Bethel Park, so she thinks it’s kind of neat to pass her brother in the halls.
Like many other teachers, Miss Walsh has a busy schedule and hobbies outside of school. She said, “I love to run, and I decorate cakes at Bethel Bakery during the summer.” Miss Walsh’s family owns Bethel Bakery, across the street from St. Valentine Church.
Mrs. Robb, a Trig teacher, jokingly said that Miss Walsh has not yet brought in any goodies for the teachers to share. However, Mrs. Robb was hoping she would bring them in on the in-service day last Monday.
Miss Walsh is glad that everyone has been so welcoming as she is now taken under the wing of Bethel Park. Miss Walsh loves seeing her students in the hallways.
The entire community of Bethel Park welcomes Miss Walsh as an addition to the fine teaching staff at BPHS and across the District.
