There is plenty of hype for The Great Gatsby movie coming out on Friday. As many of the students here at BPHS have read the book in English class, plans were made to rush out and see the movie this weekend.
Although the movie is set in the 1920s, director Baz Luhrmann filled the film with modern day music.
The soundtrack features artists such as Jay Z, Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Andre 3000, and Fergie.
Some were skeptical about the wide range of music, but since the album released Tuesday, thousands of people have downloaded the soundtrack.
The soundtrack features a few recordings of important quotes from the movie.
Fergie’s track “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” shows a more up-beat, techno side of the soundtrack, even though the movie displays a message quite converse to the song.
The soundtrack is a great combination of all kinds of music, and has gotten many excited to rush out and see the premiere.
