“Best Hair”. “Best Eyes”. “Most Likely to Succeed”. These titles were all given out to worthy seniors at this year’s annual Goofy Awards last Friday night.
The ceremony was put on by the Junior Class Ways n’ Means who chose to make the event Olympic themed complete with a first, second, and third place winners platform.
Besides a twenty minute delay due to technical issues, the program ran smoothly.
One of the most coveted awards, “Best Hair” went to Emily Bailey and Zak Bellante.
A highlight of the night was when “Funniest” winner, Mitchell Krieger, accepted his award with the full length “Mean Girls” speech. “I think everyone looks like royalty tonight” said Mitch. He even ended the speech by breaking his medal and throwing pieces out to the crowd. You really did earn your title, Mitch.
“Most Memorable” winner, Skyler Yarroll, sent the crowd into a cheer when he took off his hat and gave a few head bangs with the ‘rock on’ symbol in the air.
The rest of the night seemed quite uneventful as the rest of the awards were given out. In previous years it seems as though the other grades had made the Goofy Awards a much bigger event.
