Hawk Eye

It's a foggy morning in Bethel Park.  As you are walking toward the high school, you see a serene scene right in front of you.  The sun is beginning to peek over the horizon, illuminating the beautiful Bethel Park landscape. Then, all of a sudden, the silence is broken.  You immediately turn your head to the origin of the the sound, a revving engine.

Without delay, you see a motor vehicle in the distance.  As the engine noise steadily becomes louder, you are able to see a red GMC Envoy pull into the student parking lot.  You watch intently as the SUV parks near the front of a desolate parking lot.  Before your own eyes, you see a shadowy figure step out of the vehicle.

This shadowy figure is none other than Gino Johnson.  As he walks closer, you begin to see his facial expression, one of pure determination and will.  The will to succeed.  Gino made the decision on this morning to bypass an extra hour of sleep in order to attend a Hawk Eye meeting.

Gino Johnson is a senior at Bethel Park High School, a member of the graduating class of 2013.  He is a well-known member of Hawk Eye, the online student newspaper.  Gino joined in 11th grade, and was recruited by perfection itsself: Mr. John Allemang.  Gino was hesitant to join at first because of his unpolished writing skills.  But with lots of practice, and instruction by Mr. Allemang, Gino blossomed into a contributing staff writer.

In his free time, Gino enjoys a multitude of activities including (but not limited to): playing Xbox, football, and basketball, listening to music, cooking food, and eating food.  Gino's  favorite restaurant is Sarku Japan, located at South Hills Village.  His favorite meal there is teriyaki chicken.

Johnson is a very ambitious young man.  He strives for perfection and has high expectations for the future.  Gino plans to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Mr. Allemang by attending Duquense University. Unlike Mr. Allemang, however, Gino plans to major in business.

School work is very important to Gino, who quit his job at the end of summer in order to focus solely on academics.   This is one example of Gino's great sacrifice and dedication, which he demonstrates frequently.  Dedication that can only be compared to Mr. Allemang, the actual definition of dedication.
