Girls celebrate after Lauren Heh’s goal to put the Lady Hawks ahead 1-0.

With a crucial 1-0 win Monday night against the Upper Saint Clair Panthers, the Bethel Park Lady Hawks are hoping to secure a spot in the playoffs once again.

Head Coach Rob Hueler reflected on the win. “Great response after a tough loss on Saturday. Girls refocused and came together as a team with a sole goal in mind: Getting the result against Upper Saint Clair. We battled for 80 minutes, defended as a team, and capitalized off a great finish from Lauren Heh,” he said.

Junior midfielder Lauren Heh scored in the 53rd minute off of a through ball from senior captain Lily Gaston.

Bethel’s defense was unbeatable with freshman Freya Blatz in goal. With the help of the backline, the Lady Hawks did not allow any shots on goal.

Earlier that night, the JV Lady Hawks, coached by Tatiana Ruzzini, tied 0-0.

The Lady Hawks, with a section record of 5-5-1, will next face Baldwin in an away game. On Wednesday, junior varsity will start at 6 p.m. with the varsity game commencing at 7:30 p.m. We support you, Lady Hawks!
