Girls’ bball beats Trinity at the buzzer

Despite being down 32-28 at half, the Lady Hawks came from behind to beat the Trinity Hillers 59-58 in a non-conference home game on Tuesday, Dec. 20.

It was a buzzer-beater layup by Maria Cerro that sealed the deal.

Maddie Dziezgowski was the leading scorer for the second game in a row, ending the game with 14 points.

Senior Becca Rodriguez had 13 points; that’s her highest of the season.

Maria Cerro had 12 points, including the winning layup at the buzzer.

Junior Emma Papalia said, “We played hard and never gave up. The bench was also into it and super loud. Thankful for this team.”

This game was a never-ending battle for four quarters.

The Lady Hawks return to action on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Shaler.
