Warren, Ohio K-9 dies of cancer

Kash, a Warren County Sheriff K-9, died of cancer on Monday, Nov. 16.

The Belgium Malinois started his career at the Warren County Sheriff’s office in 2009 and was the first law enforcement canine trained to detect prescription pills in the county, according to the Sheriff’s office.

In an article by Rebecca Butts, a writer for Cincinnati.com, a news release from the sheriff’s office said, “His role of doing narcotic sweeps at local schools, detention facilities, shipping facilities or roadside searches will be a great loss to our county and to the law enforcement partner who he served.”
