Pittsburgh Penguins help local families with annual food drive

Every year, the Pittsburgh Penguins host an annual food drive to help local families in need. This year, on November 16, the Pens helped over 100 families with food for their Thanksgiving meal.

Ian Cole, a defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins said, “Any way we can help out, any way we can hopefully make the holidays a little bit better for some people, obviously we’re looking forward to this opportunity.”

Each family that attended the annual food drive received boxes filled with the fixings for a feast.

According to CBS Pittsburgh, potatoes, turkeys, stuffing, and many other items were handed out by five of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ian Cole, Jeff Zatkoff, Nick Bonino, Matt Cullen, and Phil Kessel all participated in this act of kindness.
