10 cities to avoid in America

The United States has lots of cities in all of its 50 states some cities are very safe other cities not so much. According to USA Today, here are 10 cities in America that have the highest crime rates and that you should definitely not go on vacation to.

10. Stockton, California. The violent crime rate was 1,415 per 100,00 in 2017 there were 55 homicides, the poverty rate is 23.7% and the unemployment rate is 8%.

9. Cleveland, Ohio. This city is known for the rock and roll hall of fame and many other things, but in 2017 there were 107 homicides, the violent crime rate is 1,557 per 100,00. The poverty rate is 36% and the unemployment rate is 7.4%.

8. Rockford, Illinois. In 2017 the violent crime rate was 1,588 per 100,000. There were also 18 homicides, the poverty rate is 22.7 % and the unemployment rate is 7.5%.

7.  Milwaukee, Wisconsin. in 2017 the violent crime rate was 1,587 per 100,000 there 118 homicides, the poverty rate is 28.4% and the unemployment rate is 4.6%.

6. Little Rock, Arkansas. In 2017 there were 55 homicides,  the violent crime rate was 1,634 per 100,000. The poverty rate was 18.5% and the unemployment rate is 3.3%.

5. Kansas City, Missouri.  In 2017 The poverty rate was 18.3%, the violent crime rate was 1,724 per 100,000. There were 150 homicides. The unemployment rate was 4.3%.

4. Memphis, Tennesse. In 2017 the violent crime rate was 2,003 per 100,000, there were 181 homicides, the poverty rate was 27.6% and the unemployment rate was 4.8%.

3. Baltimore, Maryland. In 2017 the violent crime rate was 2,027 per 100,000, there were 342 homicides, the poverty rate was 23.1% and the unemployment rate was 6.1%

2. Detroit, Michigan, In 2017 the violent crime rate was 2,057 per 100,000, there were 267 homicides. The poverty rate was 39.4% and the unemployment rate was 9.3%

1. St. Louis, Missouri. This is the most dangerous city in America. in 2017 there were 205 homicides, the violent crime rate was 2,082 per 100,000. The poverty rate was 26.7% and the unemployment rate was 4.4%.
