Artist of the Week: Bea Miller

Although Bea Miller is only 16 years old, this singer-songwriter already has accomplished many things in her musical career.

Beatrice Annika Miller was born on February 7, 1999 in the small town of Maplewood, New Jersey. She started her musical career in 2008, when she appeared on Saturday Night Live and the movie Teddy Grams. Since thenshe has appeared in Confessions of a Shopaholic and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 2009, and even played Molly in Toy Story 3 in 2010.

In 2012, Miller appeared on the American version of The X Factor. She advanced to week four after being safe for the first three weeks. However, she was beaten in Week 4 Survival by famous pop girl band Fifth Harmony. Even with this dismal performance, Miller made a name for herself.

In April 2013, Miller signed with Syco Music and Hollywood Agreement. The real excitement, though, started in 2014.

In this year, Miller released her first EP, titled Young Blood. After being released in April 2014, it peaked to number 64 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the iTunes pop albums chart. On this EP was the lead song, “Young Blood,” which peaked to #105 on the American charts and #40 on the US Pop charts.

Shortly after, Miller was an opening act on the Demi World Tour for Demi Lovato. Miller opened up for Lovato in select cities.

Miller has already uploaded two new songs since her first EP. These songs are “Rich Kids,” and “Enemy Fire.” Both songs had hit videos that received a mass of viewers.

Miller is working on her first album, but the title has not been released yet. It is said that Miller is working with various artists on the album. These artists include Autumn Rowe, Jarrad Rogers, and busbee. The album should be released between March and May of this year.
