As the weekend nears, “Mortal Engines” is set to hit theaters on Friday, Dec 14. The movie brings audiences once again into a dystopian future where, after a cataclysmic event, cities have become giant, mobile machines that destroy each other for resources.
The story follows the mysterious Hester Shaw who is trying everything in her power to stop London, a giant predator city, from devouring everything in its path.
“Mortal Engines” is brought to us by the same people who made the “Lord of the Rings Trilogy,” promising to be visually appealing at the very least. Like “Lord of the Rings,” “Mortal Engines” is also based on a book by Phillip Reeve.
The movie is rated PG-13 and runs about two hours long. The cast features Hera Hilmar as Hester Shaw, Hugo Weaving as villain Thaddeus Valentine, Robert Sheehan as Tom Natsworthy, and Jihae as Anna Fang.
Although the movie has received mixed reviews from critics, seeing “Mortal Engines” would still be a fun activity on a cold weekend.
