On Wednesday, May 24, I decided to go to the South Hills Village movie theater and see the new teen romance movie, Everything, Everything.
What attracted me to this movie were the main actor and actress, Nick Robinson and Amandla Stenberg. Being familiar with both of them and their works, I was excited to see them act together.
Despite having casted two very talented leads, the plot of the film did not do them any justice. Some adjectives to describe the plot would be awkward, cringy, and unrealistic.
Aside from the plot being unlikable, I felt that the character development was not there. By the end of the movie, I did not have a connection to neither Olly (Nick Robinson) nor Maddie (Amandla Stenberg), nor did I care for their relationship.
To stray away from the negatives, I thought the cinematography and the aesthetics of the scenes were really nice. The beautiful production of the movie made it easier to watch.
I would not recommend going to the theater and spending money on this movie unless you are dying to see hottie Nick Robinson with long hair wear all black in every scene.
Overall, I give this movie 2 out of 5 stars. Although the plot and character build up was not there, the actors and visuals shed light on the film.
