Morgan McGrath
Probably spotted on the football field during a Friday night football game halftime show, or on the softball field working for a win, is Morgan McGrath-- a tall, blonde, fun-loving girl with a passion for music and journalism. In her junior year, Morgan is one of the newest Hawk Eye Staff Writers for the 2016/ 2017 school year. Morgan first developed a love for writing at Saint Thomas More Catholic School before she transferred to Bethel High in 2014. Since then, Morgan has taken Honors English classes along with electives such as Creative Writing and now Scholastic Journalism. Morgan looks forward to writing for Hawk Eye as she aims to mainly focus on feature articles and opinion articles, much different from her daily Honors English class. Morgan thinks that journalism is a necessary and important way to share news and information to the students and faculty of the high school. She is considering a possible career in journalism or photojournalism. Outside of her love for writing, Morgan also enjoys playing the saxophone; she is in Concert Band and a member of the high school’s Black Hawk Marching Band: The Pride of Bethel Park. Outside of Marching Band season, Morgan plays Bethel Rec Softball with many of her friends. Some of Morgan’s other activities include participating in Interact Club and working at Evey’s Hardware in Bethel Park. At home, Morgan is the oldest child of four and spends time playing the keyboard, studying her school work, and hanging out with her dog, Nibbles. Morgan’s middle name is Alexandra, her favorite color is yellow, favorite animal is a tiger, and favorite food is wraps. Morgan thoroughly enjoys reading, writing, and learning and she looks forward to using those skills for the Hawk Eye newspaper. Written by: Kayla Dell, Staff Writer
