Pioneer landmark in South Park

When you are driving through South Park and see an old, dark brick house with a wooden fence around it, you may have thought, ‘what is that?’

Well, your question has just been answered.

That building is Oliver Miller Homestead. And it is a pioneer landmark and whiskey rebellion site that was built in 1808.

But there is not just one building to see. There are multiple structures that are on location to showcase how the pioneers once lived.

And to the public who are intrigued in this history, you are in luck.

Oliver Miller Homestead is now reserved to the public and anyone is welcome to visit the property.

All you’ve got to do is join a self-guided tour on any Sunday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the cost of just $1 on a normal day, and $2 on a special day.

If you have any further questions, visit the sites website or call 412-835-1554.
