Restaurant Review: Benihana

Benihana, located at 2100 Greentree Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, is overall a good restaurant with a fun environment for the customers. They serve good food and the chefs’ theatrical cooking is very fun.

We walked into Benihana around 4:30 p.m. We had called ahead and made reservations, so we were seated immediately after the last person arrived. We were seated right by the entrance, and the woman was very nice. She greeted us and took our drink orders.

After the waitress left, we began looking through the menus and deciding what we wanted to order. I got the Hibachi Shrimp. The Hibachi Shrimp is a six-course meal, so I got miso soup, a little salad, pre-shrimp, onions, zucchini, and, of course, my shrimp.

The wait for our food wasn’t too long, probably around only ten minutes.

The chef arrived and started a little bit of conversation with us. At Benihana, the chef cooks on a large hot surface right in front of you. He immediately began with the first round of food. They serve you small amounts of food at one time to keep you eating.

My food was very good and I ate all of it, though some other members of my party who got meat said he overcooked it a little bit.

After we had all finished eating, we paid the check. We waited a few more seconds to finish up our conversation and we left at 6:45 p.m.
